CryptoSkill is designed to be privacy-friendly. We collect minimal information:
Website analytics: We collect anonymized analytics data including page views, search queries, and general usage patterns. This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify individual users.
Quick Submit form data: When you submit a skill through our Quick Submit form, we collect the information you provide, including skill name, GitHub URL, category, description, and optionally your email address.
Theme preference: We store your light/dark mode preference in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device.
We do not require account registration to browse or use the skill registry.
2. How We Use Information
The information we collect is used solely for the following purposes:
Improving the skill catalog: Analytics help us understand which skills and categories are most popular, allowing us to prioritize curation efforts.
Reviewing skill submissions: Quick Submit form data is used to evaluate and process skill submissions for inclusion in the registry.
Website analytics: Understanding general usage patterns helps us improve the site's design, performance, and user experience.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Information We Don't Collect
CryptoSkill is a directory service, not a financial platform. We want to be explicit about what we do not collect:
No wallet addresses or private keys
No trading data or transaction history
No personal financial information
No user accounts or passwords
No cookies for tracking purposes (we only use localStorage for theme preference)
No biometric data or device fingerprints
4. Third-Party Services
CryptoSkill relies on the following third-party services:
GitHub Pages: Our website is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may collect technical information such as IP addresses and request logs as part of their hosting service. See GitHub's Privacy Statement for details.
GitHub: Our source code and skill registry are hosted on GitHub. Interactions with our GitHub repository (issues, pull requests, etc.) are governed by GitHub's Privacy Statement.
Skills and MCP servers listed in our registry may use their own third-party APIs, services, and data providers. Each skill may have its own data collection practices. We encourage you to review the documentation and privacy policies of individual skills before use.
5. Data Retention
We retain data only as long as necessary for its intended purpose:
Quick Submit form data is kept only for the duration needed to review and process the submission. Once a submission is accepted or rejected, the form data is no longer retained separately from the public registry entry.
Analytics data is aggregated and anonymized. We do not retain individual user-level analytics data.
Theme preference is stored locally in your browser and can be cleared by you at any time through your browser settings.
6. Children's Privacy
CryptoSkill is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at maintainers@altresear.ch and we will take steps to remove that information.
7. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your data:
Access: You may request to know what personal data we hold about you.
Deletion: You may request deletion of any personal data we have collected, such as Quick Submit form data.
Correction: You may request correction of any inaccurate personal data.
Objection: You may object to the processing of your personal data.
